    Hello Everyone.

I am the owner of Prius 4th generation in Korea

My PRIUS 4th has fuel consumption display L/100km [IMG]

Other PRIUS 4th has fuel consumption display km/L[IMG]

My prius is an early version and the other car is a recent version

Is it technically upgradeable to use both or change??

Is there a software or hardware upgrade method?

    Waiting for your help

To change the various displays of distance/mpg you need to press the Trip button on you steering wheel. If I remember right, the are 4 different sequential displays. Don't do this while you're driving as it might be a dangerous distraction. Good luck and enjoy your new Prius.:)

Both pictures are the "from the flag" trip. That is, starting from the latest Ready mode.
The user wants to change the units displayed. I know the US can now switch from mpg to metric but the early 2016 could not. Perhaps somebody in Europe or @Tideland Prius might know. I am on the road and unable to help in the research. It should be documented in the owners manual.

There might be an option in the "Settings" menu.

    1. Using the right hand side steering wheel control

    2. Scroll left or right until you select the "Settings" display.

    3. On the "Settings" screen, press the up or down arrow on the steering wheel switch to select the item. Press the centre button to acknowledge.

Perhaps there is a setting in that list to change the units of measurement from "km/L" to "L/100km".

For American and Canadian cars, this is where we go to change the speedometer between "km/h" and "mph".

AFAIK the only thing that can change is the speed indication. If you've got mpg display, or liters per 100 kilometer, that can't change.

Here in Mexico. Prius 4th generation Base trim same thing, can't change X lt/100kms for X kms/lt. Only switch metric or imperial measure units.

Speedometer units? That would be the usual.

Sorry, didn't word my last post that well. What I meant to say is that typically only the speedometer can be changed, between mph and kph. Fuel consumption stays in whatever it has, the predominant system for a particular country. For example, our's is metric, and I can change the speedo only, to mph, if driving in the 'States.

FWIW, some early 2016's in the 'States were not capable of switching speedo to metric kmh, an oversight I think.

Yeah I'm under the impression that only the speedo can be changed (if available) since it's the most critical unit. The others are based on the country's standard units of measurements.

So a US Prius in Canada would show km/h and mpg?

US Prius will show metric for speed, odometer and consumption. Temperature is still in Fahrenheit, though :)

Yeah, mine is a May 2016 build. Not shown in this photo, but total odo is also metric.

I'm just happy that it's easily switchable when we drive up to Vancouver. The missus' Outback is buried in a settings menu that's only available while stopped.

What? That's interesting. In the Gen 2/3, it's just the speedo (and DRCC if equipped).

Also, on the Gen 2/3 on the dashboard.

Doesn't your wife's Gen 4 change to miles for when she visits us?

Here's the picture of my March, 2016 built Three U.S. model. It can't be switched between mph and km/h.
