We thought fuel efficiency and alternative energy could use some balls and attitude beyond the cliché marketing hoopla of clouds, leaves, and rainbows. Electric car technology is badass, so we made the first-ever fuel efficient car babes calendar. And the Prius made December, which is always reserved for the best photo.

Since I'm new to the forum it will not allow me to post actual links, but just go here to the Big Cartel store page where they are for sale:
    PumpRebels dot com

Buy one or two and help support the new era of electric/hybrid/fuel efficiency.

    Best,
    Mike

It'd be nice if the girls were actually modeling with the cars....oh well.

Too bad the G3 V/Five's beautiful alloys aren't shown.

Looks great. Any reason why Prius FIVE with 17" rims wasn't used?

Those looking at the cars may have missed the point of this particular calendar. Me, I would prefer Prius owners who happened to be statuesque rather than generic babes.

I'm not convinced that the model is in the same shot as the Prius.

Firstly, from where she stands you can see from the bricks that she is not far away from the car, but she looks like a giant, even given that she is wearing heels. I'm guessing proportionally she is 7 to 7 1/2 feet tall.

Secondly she casts a super long shadow but the Prius does not.

Finally I find it curious that the op has a 2011 Prius Alpha 5 with Solar Roof.

Thirdly... I think she needs to eat a more balanced diet. Something with a bit less bulimia in it perhaps.

So does this mean the Moon Landing really was shot in a sound stage located in the Arizona desert?

    Wow, what a bargain!

By buying the calendar, in one fell swoop you can support tastelessness,
the objectivization of women, and inept use of PhotoShop.

IIRC, the demographics for this board is higher than typical education and
age. It would appear that the marketing/publicity dept hasn't done it's
    homework.

    IMHO, this is borderline SPAM.

I must protest; this was NOT an inept use of Photoshop.

This was an inept use of MS Paint.

Prius has great aero-curves. Leaf has voluptuous headlights.

These are the best looking green car posters I have seen.

It is spam and not a bargain: it's obvious all photo elements were stolen off the net and composited...even barring connotations hired models with cars.

    Hi there-
Just wanted to give a friendly correction. These images are all original creations and have not stolen anything. Well accomplished car photographer Peter Dawson (peterdawson dot net) shot all the photos of the models posing on cars in a studio, then we photoshopped all the girls/cars into environments that Peter photographed separately. The reason for this is because it is too difficult to get permits to shoot on location in the LA area. You can't just go set up a bunch of lights and camera equipment by the side of some mountain road or on a sidewalk.

We rented most of the cars from SimplyHybrid car rental in LA. They were super cool and loved the idea. They even called in extra employees to help us drive multiple cars from the lot to the photo studio.

I attached some images I snapped during the actual shoot to show we actually shot this. These are the Smart ForTWo Electric and the Nissan Leaf. Peter has done photoshoots for Mazda, Lexus, Land Rover and others. He shoots a lot of the images you see in their ads and car brochures at the dealership. A really great guy who is super talented at creating photographic images.

We're just some creative/artist/designer/photographers who dig fuel efficient cars and got together to make something cool. It's not intended to please every Prius owner. Just the ones who don't take themselves too seriously.

    Kind regards,
    Mike

Well I don't think it's very cool to make even the models look photoshopped on top of the cars on top of a faux background. Literally every example I see on the advertised site has seperate lighting on the car vs the model (and many of the compositions have mismatched perspectives). It would have helped to at least have spent some time with the shadows. As is, it looks like every element is a collage and is not composited very well. Because the models look to be seperate from the cars, it doesn't look like they were hired.

Here is an example of what I think is a good composite (everything is in perspective and the artist actually spent time with shadows and lighting):

Substituting gas saving cars for supercars does nothing to make this idea any less derivative.

While I often think that the Prius community is a little too elitists for my tastes, this SPAM-O-RAMA might be just a little too much counterbalance.

But hey.....as long as you're into the this kind of "marketing", why not include a diminutive pair of "truck nutz' in a stern shot while you're at it?

What does any of this have to do with the Prius?

I've been staring at these pictures and don't see cars anywhere in them.

The problem with putting those on a Prius is they would be dragging all the time. :D
