fuel injector cleaning?

I see a couple of members mention Techron. Is is a superior/highly effective fuel/injector cleaner?

 

Always check the oil, even if Toyota changed it. I once had a case where the dealership overfilled my oil. Because it was clear, I thought something was wrong with my dipstick, until 6 months later as the oil got brown, I was convinced they had over filled it.

 

P0301 means a misfire in cylinder #1, as your probably know. Did the engine lose power/compression and what was the solution?

Just pointing out that this is a 10-year old Gen 2 thread and some of those people haven't posted in 10 years? It may pay to check dates before posting to make sure a post is still relevant.

I don't know if fuel injector cleaner helps or not. I just use Top Tier fuel and figure it's good enough.

 

It seems that the stuff in Top Tier fuel is pretty good.

I've heard good things about Techron, it probably does something.

We also have some evidence that if the injectors are bad enough to cause noticeable engine symptoms, they might be beyond help by an in-tank additive, but a bench cleaning works great.
