    Which is to say a unit of power (like watt) is conformable to an energy unit divided by a time unit (like joule per second), or that an energy unit (like joule) is conformable to a power unit multiplied by a time unit (like watt⋅second).

    And #21 was a followup to

    just looking to clarify how megawatts (a power unit) ended up next to kilograms of stuff (the source of the energy).

    "1000 megawatts for some unit of time" would have units of energy, and would then make sense next to the kilograms of stuff. Following fuzzy1, I think the right unit of time was 'year', so the version where the units work out would be "obtain 1000 megawatt⋅years by fusing 100 kg of deuterium with 150 kg of tritium."

    Stumbled upon this youtube today and hope this is the correct thread to drop it off at. I'm linking 18 minutes into the middle of the video where the interviewee makes this statement that I think most of us should be able to relate to on one level or another.
