I have had no real issues with my 2008. Normal maintenance. Did have to replace the water pump a few months back.
It's time for a new battery and plug replacement. Tired of paying the dealer. Reading here it's seems simple enough. Is it necessary to turn the Hybrid battery off when replacing either or both?

Also the new codes. Had all cleared but P1122 would not clear.

P1122- Coolant control issue. Will be having a deeper diagnostic done to determine what it is. Cost $90.

P 3193- Out of fuel ;) Yea right LOL Have never ran out, but have noticed changes to the "guess" gauge in the last 6 months. Read disconnect negative 12v battery for a few minutes will reset it.

C1241- as mentioned above will be replacing new battery. Tend to have shorter commutes since retirement. Which will change life of the battery. No big deal.

C1300- Skid Control Unit ??? Thinking about just ignoring it. I learned how to drive in a '68 Beetle. We didn't have all that stuff. LOL My concern is if I do ignore it, will there be side effects of other systems.

    any help is appreciated.:)

12v is easy, disconnect neg first, note where vent tube runs to.

Plugs are easy but difficult to access.

Neither requires disconnecting the hybrid battery

Thanks for the replies. and the links.

Cleared out all codes but the P1122. Car is getting a deeper diagnostic at the shop as I type, will know soon about the problem. Cabin heat is working, so???

Curious if the C1300 error pops back up. being old school, not really concerned about lack of skid control. Curious if a bad skid control ECU will domino effect to other circuits. Wiring diagram I came across shows it to be stand alone and connected to main CU.

remembered the 12v battery died a few months back. Jumped it and all was fine after driving it approx 60 miles. No error codes. All seemed normal.

after research here, as I said above I'll be replacing that battery and changing the plugs. Seems easy enough. and I have the tools.

I couldn't care less about the out of fuel error code. When I change the battery I'll reset fuel gauge error. Seems the only other things affected, if I don't hook up a spare battery, is trip odo and the one push driver side window. And read how to reset the window.

    thanks again

update; the shop just called. It "might" be the water valve. but, some "critter" has gotten in there and chewed through some wires and has one cut in half. I'm guessing a damn squirrel.

They're going to repair the wires and check it again.

While squirrels sometimes are the culprits, RATS (or mice) are MUCH more likely to be the real offenders.
They seem to like the "taste" of the wire insulation.

How do you figure that ?
Just because you SEE more of them around doesn't mean much of anything.
Rats and mice don't play openly in the park.
And they don't live in trees.

tis true. some cats like the taste of plastic shopping bags, go figure

But, as I said above, where I live, most likely are squirrels, aka tree rats :D
