gas gauge inaccurate

Just curious. How hard was that to do? Repeated slight clicks? Something else. Pressurizing the tank to stretch it slightly and then letting it relax before filling? Repeating the process?

:huh: Yes, how did they get that much fuel in the tank? Maybe we need expand it like with a brand new balloon. Just put our lips on the fill hole and blow....... c'mon Toyota, give us a hint.

I think part of the problem is the blatter is rigid and stiff when it is new.. Over time with fillups it should expand to accominidate the full 11.9 gallons when truely empty

I noticed also that with my 2007 prius, the first tank ( I am on my 3rd since I got it) from the dealership was not a "full tank" I was down to one bar (not blinking) and I was only able to put in a total of 8 gallons. This gave me a total of 33mpg while the display was reading 45mpg. Didnt make sense to me

finally I learned how to fill the tank. You have to go really slow almost to the point where the pump is ready to click off. Then after it clicks off you need to pull the nozzle out, point it slilghtly up slightly and "pulse" gas into the tank.. after you carry a full tank for a while.. the blatter will naturally expand to hold it ..

also I found that with the warmer temps... I am able to get more fuel in the tank
