Gas in californina

    This would be a good opportunity for california EV drivers to offer up carpool seats for a couple of weeks and evangelize a few more to the herd.

    That's the reason I have an extra 30 gallons of gas in metal jerry cans in the garden shed well away from the house. It serves as emergency generator fuel. I rotate it every 2-3 years. I've used really old 5 years gas that has contained Stabil with no adverse reuslts. I have, however, had isses with plastic gas cans, as over time, a sizeable percentage permeates through the plastic walls.

    For a while, I used some $1.50 a gallon gas. Makes you feel really good.

    The voters in california need to get CARB reformed. The war with refiners has caused an underinvestment, which will cause more of these spikes. The rules make it impossible to import gasoline from other states. They need to either stop the war with the oil companies, and/or change the rules so that gasoline can be imported with other blends when problems occur.

    It is stupid stuff like this that prompted me to leave CA. I have never regretted my decision and... this (and other stupid stuff like water shortages, debt, rising taxes etc) simply reinforces to me that I made the right decision. Oh happy day.

    gas prices went up .12 here last week. $4.07 down the street from me and i don't think it has ever been too much higher.

    Are you in Mexico? PEMEX is government owned. In the US, they are ALL private. They are, however, subsidized with special tax breaks from the Government.

    If you can carpool with someone who owns an EV, why do it only for a couple of weeks? It never ceases to amaze me that Californians save up to an hour a day by driving in the carpool lane, and still do it alone.

    Sorry. Carb hasnt been very effective at that lately. They seem to prefer regulating ghg to the stuff that makes us sick lately.

    I noticed gas price went up $0.12 since last night. The Chevron around the corner is $4.85. LOL
