If you want, please post a pic of your screen shots: 1. TIS open/home page ( like to see if it is standalone or the full version, we want standalone ) 2. VIM page ( we want to see to choices, we are looking for Xhorse ) 3. Driver File ( we want to see there is a 32bit configured driver ) 4. READ ME file ( we want to see if the instructions are there ) Instructions will ask you to copy the PROGRAM FILES, then go to your C drive and locate the Toyota file then paste the PROGRAM FILE, this should make your TIS a standalone program and eliminate the need for a Key Code.
Great Post Bob! I purchase a miniVCI and it operates on a dedicated laptop (XP OS). Best tool for Prius troubleshooting. Haven't had vehicle very long (3 months) and had a few moisture issues in damp weather but only appeared twice. Issue has not reappeared in 2 months. Your post was spot on. Once I received the MiniVCI the issue was obvious. No further with base vehicle. Only issue now is blinking MFD. Hope to determine cause as time goes on. Vehicle had 221K on clock when purchased and thought it would be a great learning tool. Really like the vehicle and the design concept. If you have any ideas on MFD issue, please reply. Again Great Post.
If, by MFD you mean the meter with the speedometer, there have been electronic issues on later generations. @Texas Hybrid Batteries has done repairs & swaps on those. Perhaps they may have ideas on your Gen 1. Here is a link for questions. Texas Prius Battery Replacement
No, by MFD he means the multifunction display, which is the screen in the center of the dash. Probably best if people who do not have the model, or experience/knowledge of the model refrain from commenting.
