Gen 2 vs Gen 3 trailer hitch?

    I have a gen 2 and wanted to install a trailer hitch. I can get a gen 3 hitch locally for a really good price but a gen 2 hitch is over 3x as expensive. They look very similar in dimension does anyone know if they are interchangeable?

    They look very different to me. Drop down is greater in the second hitch pictured.
