Looking at replacing the hybrid traction battery in our 2010 Prius. Based on how long I plan to keep car and considering resale value, plan on buying a new OEM battery from Toyota.

Looking at part numbers on line it appears there are 2 different parts available. One for early Gen 3's with a build date up to 10/10, and they 10/11 and beyond.

Anyone know what the differences are?
Different plug or wiring harness maybe?

    Early part number G9510-47060

    Late part number G9510-76010

If your battery haven't failed, there's really no reason to replace it prematurely. They are suppose to last the life of the car

I agree with JC. Unless you have some kind of obvious degradation in charge rate performance, I wouldn't replace the battery. If the SOC (state of charge) rate doesn't drop off at an unusual rate the battery should be fine.
As for the difference in the part numbers you might want to query the dealer for that information. With 38 or so variants, your VIN is going to be important for the decipher.

Battery is toast, otherwise ... I'd still be saying we should sell this car before the battery dies...lol

Not interested in trying to band-aid this battery, or a "reconditioned battery", just want to try and find out the difference between the two part numbers.
