I recently replaced a gen 3 Prius with a gen 4. I sometimes park the car for 2-3 months. With the gen 3, the 12 volt battery was charged "electronically" from the big battery, but only when the hybrid system was "on." When I parked the car for several weeks, I filled it with gas, and disconnected the 12 volt battery. After reconnecting the battery, the car started, and everything was fine.

My question is, will this be the case with a gen 4, trim level 3, which would have the lithium ion battery? Is it safe to assume that there is no load on the big battery, when the car is parked?

    Thanks for info.
