    Don't worry about paralleling the batteries with different voltages. There might be a small spark initially, but the current will not be a concern through the small hook up wire that you would typically be using. There is also a small voltage rise in a charged battery due to chemistry, not the internal resistance, so that will decrease the voltage difference very quickly.

    Hey, I just bought a 2004 Prius with same exact problem, as yours, computer and wire hardness are burned, what is costing that to happen, did you fixed yours? How?
