Techstream will tell you if there is even a call for the fan and what speed it should be running at.

Yup I already got a few pics, but it wouldn't allow me to post them...Must have an external site to post from. I got a Box account, would that work? And we got Auto Enginuity with the Toyota module installed so we're ready to go on that.

This is with blower and air input duct to battery removed. Notice the slot shaped hole for battery air inlet.

Notice the shape which will match the top of battery case slot. The fans will already be slanted downward into the slot.

The final product! Ready for testing Tomorrow morning. Notice I connected the fan wires to original 12v cable conn. Make sure polarity is correct! Used more hot glue on the box cracks to seal it up. Got to take wife to work at 7AM. It should work better than nothing which is what it had..

My guess: Close, but no Cigar. Yes, it will blow air. No, it won't blow with enough pressure. Computer Case Fans move a lot of air, but not with a lot of pressure. The Toyota Fan can move a lot of air, and blow it with a lot of pressure to push it through/past all the batteries.

Yes you are correct richmke, but today I noticed it still never comes on. So there is another problem with the 12v line to the fan, probably caused by the original blower drawing way too much current! I measured it on the bench at 5A continuous, and has maybe 10A spike when first starting. And yes when running it does blow a LOT of air at high pressure. So this little experiment showed that there's another problem is all.. On another note, I noticed here in the Denver metro area there's a place selling reconditioned packs for $700. That would be good for another 3-5 years of life for this 06' with no other problems when this 13 yr old pack finally dies...

Nope, just getting back here after a longtime...what about the reconditioned packs? Let me guess - they last maybe 2 years if you're lucky because they have already used modules that were mixed and matched...

Hmmm.. Electron Automotive rebuild kit looks promising for when this battery dies..Have you heard anything about them? In the kit you get all new modules and new buss bars which are already conditioned. Easy enough.
