    Hi Prius V owners!

My name is Max and I am moving from the Prius C page. I am not sure if this is where I should be so please correct me if I landed on the wrong page. I will be taking possession of a Prius 7 seater in the next few days, it comes with a lithium pack in the armrest, I think this is the best way to describe it. Here in Taiwan we call it the Prius Alpha with 1.8l engine, I think in UK its called the Prius Plus.
As many of you know I am also distributing the Red Bullet solenoid internationally so I will for sure be putting one in this new vehicle after a few weeks running on the stock to get a base line. I have heard Prius V has lower MPG than advertised and I was wondering how bad. I know for sure we will miss the MPG on the Prius C, but life happens. We are getting into this larger Prius because of a new family member joining our existing 3 members shortly, lots of baby stuff so for sure the Prius C was going to be too small...
Look forward to hearing back from Prius V page!

    Sincerely,

    Hi bisco

The exterior looks pretty close and the 1st row I think is there too. Please see photos>

I think in the UK it's called the Prius plus.
It has a 2ZR-FXE engine of a later production year so hopefully we will not see oil consumption issues.
We are upgrading the center consol to a 10 inch floating screen with Android auto capabilities and also a dash cam. The stealership offered to put in the blind spot detection side mirrors for us on delivery and we will be getting a power tail gate fitted for the Mrs.
After that some silicone wiper blade and removing the tint on the 1st roll.

I thought they fixed that after the 2014 models. is it still an ongoing issue?
I thought after they upgraded the piston rings and pins the oil blow by and oil consumption issue was fixed, and no more EGR clogging happens. Please correct me if I am wrong! Many thanks bisco for the comment!

they did update the pistons and rings, but i'm not sure the cars are old enough for a conclusion.

if anyone has taken theirs apart for a look see, i don't remember. it certainly could be the fix, but i would do some investigating if it were my car.

I heard the water pump was also an issue which can go.
As long as I'm in the right page on the forum I think everything should apply except for the lithium packs within the armrest.
I saw delta soc on the packs about 2.5%. This was the lowest out of all the Prius V/alphas I saw. Some had 6.5%. I think it might be how it is I guess on these lithium packs.
I will try to take a reading from a show room vehicle which has this lithium pack to confirm.
Battery pack still within warranty period until 2023 thus I'm not so worried about it at this time. There is also the rainbow battery when the time comes.
Thank you bisco to point out the importance of the oil consumption and the EGR valve. Greatly appreciate the positive and forthcoming suggestions of what to expect and look out for, if there are any more I thank you for the input in advanced.
I will for sure post some pictures of the mods and update the exterior looks with some chrome straps for the window frame.
I'm also very excited to use the risers which I custom made for Prius Gen 3 users with the Red Bullet since now I technically own a Gen 3 hardware with a large behind. I was so jealous about the power and smoothness of the 1.8l when I had the Prius C. Now I'm thrilled to be able to get into a Prius V.
I know the economy drop is going to hit me hard coming from the Prius C, but when everyone is comfortable and we are sitting in traffic or smoothly cruising down the highway, I will still be ahead of the game in fuel economy within the 5+2 sector.

you're in the fuel economy forum, which is fine based on your first post. but you might want to post a general introduction in the main forum.
