Anyone noticed that the battery meter isn't linear either? At "50%" on the battery illustration, the actual percentage is in the 30s as shown in the display if you switch to %.

I don’t recall seeing that sort of non-linearity. I’ll have to give it a look again on my way home this evening.

When you say “50% on the battery illustration,” are you including the reserve for hybrid operation? The %battery doesn’t include that, of course.

Correct. The scale is different than the actual charge in the battery, since Toyota isn't using the top 20% or bottom 20%. So, 100% indicated (which is all you are using) is actually about 80% using software like Hybrid Assistant. When you get down to 0% indicated on the dash, it's in the range of 20% on the aftermarket tool.

The one that matters is the dash display, since that accurately shows how the car will behave. 0% indicate battery = no EV mode. 100% battery = no more regeneration capture in the battery.

Are you talking about the battery illustration in the HSI? The numerical percentage displayed is for the EV portion only. Mine is pretty close to 50% of EV portion when the numerical percentage is 50%.
As commented above, you can not include the reserve hybrid portion.

Yes. (although I was talking about it in the split display next to the speedo but it's the same display). Yes, where you labelled "50%" in your photo, the car says it's 33%. I will have to take a photo cause I see yours correlates correctly.

No, I'm only counting the EV portion ( the green part). @Salamander_King has a photo that shows 50% on the battery meter and 50% (value) on the HSI screen. I'll have to take a look at my car again. When I saw 50% on the battery meter (green portion only), I saw 33% (value) on the HSI display.

Here is a 40% picture. It is possible the battery illustration's green level does not move much from 50% to 30%. I looked but did not have any pic for the 30% level.

Or, get the Hybrid Assistant app and do the comparison on the car in question.

Another option is to switch to the mi/kWh screen. You can make range estimates based on:
    4 mi/kWh ~ 25 mi EV range
    5 mi/kWh ~ 30 mi EV range

Fortuitously, here’s my commute today at 57 and 31%.

Yeah I must’ve been dreaming about the 33% at half. But yeah it doesn’t move too much. Seems like more than 1/3 on the battery display.

I never use the split screen battery level (one next to the speedometer), but yeah, it is a slender version of the battery icon on the HSI, and that should makes it easier to see the changes but doesn't. Still, too few ticks on the bar to make accurate reading. ;)

it's possible but I managed only once to bring down the blue part of the battery while driving EV ( really slow ... lol )
