Two EVSE at our Huntsville Whole Foods have been down since the end of January. One has a broken J1772 handle and the other has an internal logic error. This has been brought to the attention of store management at least three times by me. I've escalated to Whole Foods regional management. They are still broken.

Whole Foods prices are high so over time and with a broken EVSE, it makes more sense to go to Star Market, 6.7 mi, where there is a free, L2 charger (I provided the EVSE, a JuiceBox 40 Pro and T-Mobile hotspot.) Further away, by the time I am done shopping, the car has a $0.60 charge that covers the drive over. But Krogers without a charger is even closer and club soda is one of my staples:
    • $0.0415 / oz - Whole Foods, 4.7 mi, 12 oz * 6 cans
    • $0.0204 / oz - Kroger, 0.7 mi, 33.8 oz bottle
    • $0.0147 / oz - Kroger 67.4 oz bottle
The problem with the Kroger bottles is the cap has to go back on, tight or the CO{2} escapes. I'm looking for a cap with a pressure tight valve to dispense the club soda or I'll fabricate one.

My point is I'll pay the Whole Foods premium and drive 4.7 mi IF I can get a free charge. Alternatively, I drive 6.7 mi to Star Market to get a free charge while shopping. But without a free charge, I might as well go cheap, 0.7 mi to Kroger.

    @ Club Soda:
Look into some of the solutions that home brewers use for growlers.
Probably will not be cost effective for club soda, but it might inspire a......(*) sorry....."homebrew" solution. :)

    @ Whole Paycheck:
Media shaming would probably work in California's IE......not so much in Bama.
    Still?
Fax a bunch of folks in the head-shed if you have one of those old-timey things.
    Faxing is interesting technology!
It requires a little more effort than tweeting, emailing, etc....but this is true on BOTH ends of the pipe, and it's cheap.
    Fun Fact:
The Fax machine was invented all the way back in '43......................as in, 1843.

I thought I've seen soda bottle caps with built in pumps for pressurizing it. Alternatively, you can go with a Soda Stream, and make club soda at home.

Putting pressure on business for infrastructure is a good thing. Soon maybe they will include they have charging stations in their advertising.

Where I live in Indians I have no hope. After they put in some paved roads maybe there will be charging stations.

Found "Upside down soda dispenser" running ~$2-3, they screw on the bottle and then turn it upside down. Their handle can either be lever to push or flipped to push drinking cup. I just ordered two.

I understand that commercial CO2, used for beverage manufacture, pellet-gun propulsion, etc., is collected from industrial offgassing. Various sources, of which corn-to-ethanol may be most rapidly expanding.

In other words, Instead of being directly released, CO2 goes through another 'economy loop' and is then released.

Misunderstandings here resemble those around direct human CO2 emission. Humans eat food. If not, that food would be 'eaten' by microbes (or whatever) and released as CO2 all the same.

If there are any horrors here, they relate to not knowing things. But that's probably overly dramatic.

In Roseville at Galleria they have 4 charging possibilities, however only 2 parking spots . I had spoken to the Manager and he told me they could not get permission for two more spots, weak excuse, I haven’t gone back in years now, thier loss.

Are you recommending human methane tochatihu ?

Human gut microbes convert very little carbon into methane. Amounts indifferent to my positions, one way or another.

We could tone down the beef thing, However, I will soon prepare 200 grams of that, so look elsewhere for a qualified opponent.

We could reduce petro-industry methane emissions in a variety of ways, if somebody wanted to pay for that.

Humans transfer net CO2 to atmosphere to make money. So, that's fair enough, as far as it goes. Adding additional loops to make additional money off the same CO2 seems like a win.. Besides, normally carbonated beverages don't taste nearly as good after they stop bubbling.

FYI, around January they added 2 more charging stations on the other side of the Galleria (west side of Macy's). These are currently free "Volta" stations. The same problem as you describe - each one is only accessible from one designated parking space. Having come across these spots with a vehicle that has finished charging, it would be nice to have an adjacent spot to use the idle station.

Somewhat strangely, flat Coca-Cola was the only palatable drink for me when undergoing intense chemotherapy!

my wife says whole foods prices are better on some items and worse on others. she shops 4 local markets for different items and specials. whole foods is the only one with charging stations.
but they are all within the range of the pip, so it doesn't really matter.

Wow! You've got the cheap Whole Foods. I was just in one where club soda was $4.99 for a 750 ml bottle. But they've got what must be 100 different types of water. French water, Italian water, New Zealand water, vitamin water, strawberry water, lemon water, electrolyte water, alkaline water, high pH water... Gallon of Crystal Springs water was $2.59, available at my local Ranch 99 for $0.99.

But club soda? How Krogers... You go to Whole Foods for foo foo water :D.
