    I want to know what's unique about that Boise football field.

    That's it's blue?

    That it has a logo?

    That Boise plays football?

    That Idaho plays football?

    Ah, cool, thanks.
    Yup, the only blue turf...sorry about the close crop, guess I could've blurred out the Boise on the turf, but I figured it was enough that some football fan would figure it out.

    Theres a rather vague relation to the previous puzzle.
    Now Im reading that "HAL " is more of an urban legend and may not be an actual reference to this place.But in obscure legend it is.

    My first thought was that you meant the HAL 9000, but it was built in Urbana Illnois, clearly not IBM Headquarters, Armonk, New York, which is what you've posted. The HAL - IBM link is pure urban legend - see the Wikipedia entry on HAL - so that really threw me until you mentioned it might be urban legend. The STREET VIEW availability & general New York "look" of the place (compared to the limited choice of STREET VIEWS - Las Vegas, California, Florida & Denver are it in addition to New York) did have me prowling around the upper Hudson River, looking for football fields belonging to schools that might be called HAL until you made your urban legend comment.

    So, what is the connection between a blue school football field in Boise and HAL 9000?

    Meanwhile, I found an interesting gadegt while hunting down the wrong HAL - give me a few moments to get it posted ---

    HAL is wordplay for IBM being the prior 3 letters in the alphabet.But Arthur Clark denies it.

    This football field has no business being where it is, and it clearly is not designed for spectating. But there it is nonetheless, and the fact that STREET VIEW is available should be more than sufficient clue to find it. And when it gets found, please explain it, if you can - I can't begin to understand why it's there or who uses it (and for reasons that go beyond just its location).

    That narrows it to
    the following areas:

    * Denver
    * Houston
    * Las Vegas
    * Los Angeles
    * Miami
    * New York City
    * Orlando
    * San Diego
    * San Francisco Bay Area

    Would guess it would be a practice field, probably of a professional football team or a wealthy college team.
    Looks like either LA hills or Las Vegas most likely.

    Yes, that really narrows it down! :rolleyes: I've searched around a bit, but as far as I can tell it is a needle in a haystack search now. I think we are going to need a hint to narrow it down a bit.

    Topologically, you can eliminate Florida. Ditto Houston.
    But the real clue is this: the damn thing is in the middle of nowhere. Now where can you be in the middle of nowhere and still get a street view?

    Hope that helps -

    Ive been centered on Denver as the vegetation seems to match and there is a lot of street view unpopulated area.The color isnt quite right though.
    Its not the Broncos practice area.
    Whatever it is ,those buildings are pretty large.

    Near Las Vegas ,Hilltop Campground
    I just followed the major roads out of town.I figured that ,that big of a facility must be near a highway.

    It's not the traffic circle of the parliment house in Canaberra, AU, but it's darn cool looking too.

    I'm frustrated, I've searched google for spire roundabouts, found a bunch of cool ones, but not this one. It's so distinctive you'd think it would pop right up.

    I'm with you, Evan, this is a landmark determined to stay hidden.

    I haven't pursued the Catholic angle, however - the elliptic crucifix shape may not be coincidence. Anyone checked out Brazil, Spain, Portugal?

    Coincidentally the new WTC structure's name, will have the same meaning as this structures.
