This one isnt a famous place.Outside the region its not that interesting.But one of the presidential candidates studied there.

Actually it's Little and Big Diomede Islands (according to Wikipedia), these are the closest bodies of land owned by Russia and the U.S. being just 3 km (2 miles) apart. Also, the international date line runs between these islands (my next clue was going to be the difference between them was almost night and day, but obviously you folks don't need many clues
