Thats also Graumans Chinese Theater next door.
I thought someone would recognize the line of dots on the sidewalk as stars.

I thought that was a marking for a bike lane or something. Didn't look like a sidewalk to me, and I didn't recognize that type of marking, so thought it might be foreign, although the cars and buildings looked American.
No palm trees or anything to mark it as a southern climate, I was way off.

This has got to be where one of the fires in S. Cal. started. Which one that is the question.

Or it's the epicenter of the 5.6 earthquake on the Calaveras fault - but one of the fire origins would certainly be more widely known.

Aha - it's the Earthquake epicenter

--- unless something else happened in these trees two weeks ago, like a murder, but I'm pretty sure it's the earthquake epicenter.

I'll leave it open until I can confirm it or someone else does.

Yes! You are correct. It is the epicenter of the recent 5.6 Northern California earthquake.

I had been wanting to post that one for a while. I'm not good at finding places so I usually wait for the map to be left "open".

I guess it's open for anyone unless airportkid wanted to post one.

You guys won't mind if I jump in here I hope - found something that hasn't shown up yet.

Fish have pissed in the harvest from these fields, but no one seems to mind ---

I searched "red ponds" and a picture of SF Bay salt ponds came up.

It's not a bombed out bridge - no roadway approaches & the shadows are too uniform. So it's a flow control system. But Googling flow control, flood control, crest gates, etc. doesn't do much but show a planet full of them in rivers everywhere, so what is it about this one that gives it prominence? That's just me talking out loud, not demanding a clue, by the way. Perhaps just knowing IF this one is special in some way would help without necessarily knowing WHAT makes it special?

Thames Flood Barrier ,I found it because those London shadows looked familiar.

    I'll leave it open

The bright blue water appears tropical . It would be appropriate if the color were more neutral.
