That gave it away - Old Faithful Geyser, Yellowstone National park, WY

Pretty bland picture compared to what that hot springs area really looks like up close - myriad wild and hot (literally!) colors.

OK, this should be an easy one ---- (extra credit for the exact name of the edifice depicted)

Oui! C'est le Chateau de Varsailles!

Home of French royalty, including Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI. My wife and I toured the palace on our "real" honeymoon and it was interesting to see just how much the French people (including our guide) still hate the old monarchy.

OK first reaction is that it's a airport terminal (look at the top of the pic) or a warehouse. Since it has something to do with the Arch, (does common mean nearby?) then I'm guessing something to do with the Railroads since there are a ton of tracks going through Kansas City, MO. Good luck all I gotta go.

Except the arch is in St.Louis

And there's that tower/statue thing in the mid/lower area of the image...that's gotta be key.
I originally thought this was a shot of the ground zero reconstruction site, but it's gotta be some sort of port or warehouse with all those trucks/loading docks.
Don't know what made you thing this would be an easy one, it's too generic to be 'easy.

    My thinking went like this:

OP's username is airportkid = Aviation theme
Picture looks like some kind of shipping hub

    Gateway Arch = St. Louis
St. Louis = Home of McDonnell Douglas
McDonnell Douglas = Makers of MD-11
    MD-11 = What FedEx flies

==> Picture must have something to do with FedEx hub in Memphis

But I couldn't see anything on the map around FedEx's hub in Memphis that looked like that.

    You're on the right track.

    Another hint: those aren't trucks.

But the term "Loading Dock" is certainly appropriate, especially these days ;)

That's Washington Dulles International Airport, main terminal designed by Eero Saarinen, the architect responsible for the Gateway Arch in St. Louis.

    LINK

Here's another for y'all. That last one was difficult, even though OP said it would be easy... This one, in my opinion, is easy, but we'll see if you beg for hints:

Well, that's a Hughes 500 Cayuse, for those who might make more of that hint than I can. Other prominent helicopter related names are Sikorsky, Bell, Piaseki and Hiller, in case the hint is more generic than the specific helo depicted.

That plaza is obviously commemorating someone VERY revered - but who? Statesman or scientist? Soldier or artist? Martyr or preacher? Athlete or god?

Found it, mostly by luck.... I thought it looked like the Spanish Steps so I went to Rome, just happened to spot it not far from the Coliseum.
    Piazza del Campidoglio
    http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&...p;z=17&om=1
But I don't know what the place is (wiki here I come) or what it has to do w/ the chopper.

Ah, Michelangelo designed the project...and had the original idea for a helicopter.

Oh, Doc, now that's being tricky. I've never heard of the Spire of Dublin - but there it is. This game would be impossible without Google to help out.

Alright - this one you WILL need to Google to help you out (unless you're a well traveled aviator with a good memory for otherwise unremarkable cityscapes).

Here's the vital clue: Elevator music staple.
