Google Maps Scavenger Hunt

Based on how long it took to find the last fort, I figured it would take a long time to find this one. I was loaded with the riddle like clues like: The "key" to solving this...

I had know idea that the sharks were gathering waiting for the easy prey.

I'm not convinced the Googlemaps arrow is correct - the residence with the pool in my link looks closer to a $3M estate with grounds to match, whereas the residence the arrow indicates has no pool and doesn't look very large. Gore has an extra long pool (per a New Yorker article), and his residence's tax appraised valuation of $3M ranks 81st in the Nashville area.

I couldn't find any exterior photos of Gore's house, but there's evidence in several websites to indicate he won approval to install solar panles and has already done so (although the Googlemaps image may be enough out of date to not show them).

With all the invective hurled at Al Gore for "lavish" living, this estate is one of the less ostentatious in the area - but I guess if you don't make a point of being a conservationist you can be as extravagant and wasteful as you want without a whimper of protest.

I had to go to a political donations website on Huffington post to find Gores address.Put in a name or address and it will tell you name ,address ,and donations made.

Nope, not a manor or a presidential palace. Definitely a fort, with historical significance and present-day notoriety.

There is a listing and history of it in Wikipedia, but I didn't see any latitude and longitude.
It was a busy place during the fur trade, and is located near the confluence of two rivers.

For a place like Canada that's like saying what we're looking for is near a busy freeway in Los Angeles. Or adjacent some sand dunes in the Sahara. I think the clue to focus on is "present day notoriety." Figure that one out and the answer may locate itself. I think.

OK, point taken.

If my sources are correct, I believe this is the only remaining stone fort in North America that was involved in the fur trade. Also, there were 'upper' and 'lower' forts of the same name.
