Not the structure but the address (the original structure was demolished in 1994). Be careful, the Googlemaps address arrow is NOT accurate - you'll have to confirm the find by cross-reference to contemporary photos of the address (readily and easily findable in Google).

The best-selling author of a recently published analysis of a famous murder first made his name publishing a book about another murder, the one at this address (he was also the state's lead prosecutor in that murder). The murder in his most recent book happened six years before the murder that took place here. Both murders made international headlines.

More clues - (enough to give it away, perhaps):

A guy named Abe was a key witness in the first murder; some might say he was THE witness, even though that murder never went to trial.

The murder at this place DID go to court, and the perpetrators (plural) sent to prison. Funny, the perpetrator judged most responsible was never at the murder scene.

875 South Bundy, West Los Angeles

The murderer was acquitted, and recently attempted to publish a book detailing how he would have done the murder had it really been him. Not a bright guy (drove a Bronco), but the jury was even dimmer.

Never saw it before. But I'll fix breakfast before hunting it down - and perhaps by then someone else will have gotten it. Seems like it ought to be terribly famous - a large racetrack like that adjacent an airport. Not much traffic at that airport - fewer than 10 gates; must be a crammed madhouse when a race is scheduled. Large general aviation provision (tiedowns, hangars, even a small runway) makes this a USA airport likely.

Yup. They upgraded the airport and then converted the old airport property to something that could make money.

I now know what the mystery airport is three posts up, but will bow out due to embarrassment I didn't recognize it. NASCAR I ain't, that's for sure. (Nonetheless I recently bought the Grand Prix DVD because I'm a John Frankenheimer fan and was fascinated with some of the arcanities of racing technology. One especially interesting point made was that the steep banked turns at the Monza track caused an unexpected problem: the high G forces around those banks pinned all the race car suspensions hard against their bottoms, making the ride rock hard around those banks and the cars difficult to keep under control as the slightest bump would jar the steering).

If everyone's going to bow out due to the 'instant recognition' rule, who's going to play? Should we leave around the clock hints for others? :)
