GPS Navigation to Recent destinations is inaccurate

The built in GPS navigation to recent destinations was suddenly off by over 5000 miles. It would navigate accurately to new destinations but the recent destinations stored in the memory were affected. I did a soft reset of the multimedia unit and logged out of the toyota app before logging back in but the recent destinations were still wildly off. Finally decided to delete all of the recent destinations in the memory and start fresh and that seems to work but not sure why it happened in the first place.
