I have not ever noticed a difference... But as weird as it sounds, I bought one of these batteries that are most commonly sold as Wheelchair batteries and Computer back up power supply batteries in 2013 and its getting towards the end, yet still hanging in there. I've honestly never had a 12v battery last this long.

No. Constant DC voltage is supplied to the car by the inverter/dc-dc converter (typically in the high 12v to 13.5v range by my observations) The 12v battery is nothing more than bank to store the necessary voltage needed to power up DC components (ECM/ECU's and the HV battery relays being the important ones here) when you push the start button. If the car is in accessory mode (not ready), then all DC power is supplied by the 12v battery but not for very long as the battery is small with little capacity.

If the 12v is weak and needs a lot or constant charging, the inverter has to supply more electrons to it which drains the HV battery faster which means the ICE needs to run more to recharge it; thus one may notice a slight but noticeable mpg improvement when the 12v is replaced.

And this is also why battery sellers can get away with selling really low quality garbage 12v for Prius and no one is none the wiser. On a traditional car you'd know your battery was trash every time you heard the starter motor trying to turn over, but not on a Prius.

I think it might have something to do with the battery being inside the cab.

Yeah, I don't know Hyundai Hybrids but if that much damage can happen from running over a cute little raccoon, then they didn't design the car very well... Although they do offer lifetime warranty on their battery packs in newer models and nobody else does that.

This one was surprisingly only $150. Perfect price point. The dealer wanted close to $300

Nice!!! I tried to enlarge the photo the read the specs but it was too blurry... Do you know how many amp-hours this battery has?

Is that a battery with a vent tube? You do not want charging fumes I’m the passenger cabin.

It says 45 amp hours and has the hole where the vent tube goes. It is the right one

Yes it has the hole where the vent tube goes. On another note, does anyone know what version of techstream would be most appropriate for my vehicle?

THAT is not why the original AGM battery had a vent tube.
AGMs do NOT release anything in normal operation. They are sealed.

The vent is there for unusual conditions.......of extreme charging or sudden discharges due to damage.......when unusual pressure builds up inside the case.

The odds of that happening are remote and other indications should be present making it obvious that you should get OUT of the car.
Like flames coming out of the engine compartment, for instance.

Great thank you. Also, will it allow me to change my brake fluid? I read somewhere that that is one of its limitations.

You have me confused......and others too it would seem.

How would a Techstream not "allow" you to change the brake fluid ??

Yes, you'll need techstream to perform a full bleed as it opens closed valves inside the ABS that the normal foot pedal pressing procedure won't open.

You can't. The closest to you is in California. The $1650 OE Pack is not a unicorn but it is close.
