Had to replace the Aux battery today

    And when the jump starter battery finally dies, it can be recycled endlessly like every other lead acid battery

    A lot like insurance (or an extended warranty). Can't think of the last time I had a claim, but it comforts me to have it. Insurance is required, but the extended warranty isn't, but it gives many a sense of comfort which can be great peace of mind.
