Has anyone installed a backup camera?

    2010 III trim level IIRC. When I bought it used you could see where there used to be a monitor for the aftermarket setup they installed. But there is only the camera that is a license plate mount left.

    I'm wondering if anyone has put one on and if it's worth it. I'm also looking for decent night time usability. Good brands? Difficulty? Durable/lasting?

    I have a custom head unit from Alpine. A few years ago I wired up a backup camera. Toughest part was getting the wire through the grommet. Other than that it's just removing trim and sliding the wire through. Not a big deal. I got this one

    I've been pretty happy with it. But it's performance at night is terrible so I've been considering getting a tail light bar for it.     I have an Alpine ILX-W650 paired with an Audiovox ACA800 and I like it. The back up camera is great. I love the viewing angle it is very wide. I can see everything. The night view at night is awesome too. I don't have any fancy back up lights (yet, lol). I have the OEM incandescent back up lights. Here's the link to the camera I bought.

    I have. I drilled a hole into my bumper and added it there.

    As for the wiring, i connected it to a offbrand android head unit from ebay. It is touch screen and way more useful than the oem CD radio. The camera itself was generic i bought from amazon a long time ago and had it sitting around. Just had to strip and connect the wires together

    I cut a hole for mine in the handle/button for the lift gate. It worked out nicely, as I didn't have to drill in the sheet metal.

    Well the bumper is plastic, but the lift gate is sheet metal yea. I figured since i removed my bumper off anyway due to fender bender, i might as well drill a hole in it
