Doesn't rival the one about how far you need to drop the hood to get it to latch. ;)

My favorite thread was the swamp cooler lowering internal cabin temps by 1 or 2 degrees:).

I know @Pijoto stills remembers it and might even be doing it currently(y).

Where do I put my trash? :ROFLMAO: (Here in the Big City the thugs just chuck it out the window!)

Where do I put my sunglasses? (Leave 'em in the car and they will get stolen. No more worries.)

What do I wash my car with? (Doesn't even deserve a response.)

Getting back to the Oil dipstick: My 2016 has the flat stick. And it's odd that I can only see the oil on one side of the stick. And yes, I think the dealer overfills it a bit. They sure did on my Camry. I sure miss being a younger man, when I did all the routine car maintenance myself. I have since given all my tools, floor jack, jack stands, tool chests, etc, to my nephew. After 2 spine surgerys, nerve damage, neck problems, bone grafts, and fusions, (the first one at only 37 yrs old) I can barely bend over or even walk or tie my shoes these days. I'm only 65, but I feel 85! (Cranky! Grumpy!!) No way I'm crawling under a car! I'm at the mercy of the dealers.

Enjoy your youth, young men! :)

I'd agree with that; first car I've had that smears the oil like that. The second issue is the oil seems to stay clean a long time, making it hard to see. But yeah, simple work-around is to just wait a few minutes before the reinsert: let's the oil pulled up into the guide tube drain down.

What if the dipstick was painted bright orange? Or yellow? Something like that. I'm not about to paint mine, just askin.

But my oil is the same color! Or even lighter. I'll just change it every 3,000 miles... then I'll never even have to check the dipstick.

If that were my nephew, he'd be changing the oil for me, with my tools.

Yeah. I don't think I'd want paint on my dipstick. And since new oil is so clear, I don't know what color would help even if there was some way to color the dipstick that would never flake off.

I know this thread is old, but i have a question. Today i changed the engine oil on my Prius C 2012, and i was pouring a 5 quarts. I thought i poured 4 quarts into it, but when i looked to the bottle i say that i overfilled by a little bit, as we can see in this picture, the oil should be at the same level of the red line on the right, but is slightly below it, there should be 1 quart left but there is a little less than that. I wanted to know that if such overfill could cause some damage?

You are fine. It is not an exact measurement...Where is it on the dip stick?
Slickly over the full line? I believe it is 1 quart from the low line to the full line.

Well now is dark and cold outside so i shall check the dip stick tomorrow. But considering that the Prius C takes 3.9 quarts of oil, and i accidentally put 4 quarts and a little more, i guess it will be slightly over the full line, a few millimeters maybe.

If 3.9 qts is spec I think you're fine, over but not by much. If the dipstick is per reg Prius, it's 1.6 qts (1.5 litre) between the marks.

From your pic I'd guesstimate 100~150 cc overfill.
