Hatch Leak Water Under 12v Battery

The body seam between the roof and the C-pillar is a known leaking point. You can seal that up with some silicone sealant; loosen the black "drip rail" plastic trim on the roof where it meets the hatch opening and you can see where the metal panels meet.

 

Wouldn't gamble a re-test, but check for leakage at the bumper cover fasteners as well. Many threads on water intrusion, just a search away.

The walk through would be the same as a simple DIY 'license plate light bulb replacement', except you may need additional tools.

Unless you're having heavy condensation issues, just remove the plug(s) under the 12v (and opposite cubby) and the water will drain out.

Apparently there's a rubber bung under the battery. If you're happy to let the water run off, rather than finding + fixing the source of the leak, just remove the bung
