I bought a set of OEMs from Metro Toyota. With shipping and sales tax the total came to $217.47. There are some items that I will buy that aren't OEM, but for the most part I will pay the premium price for a better quality product.

I just replaced mine with $32 replacements from NAPA. FWIW you need 90 lb. lifters. 75 will work, but feel a little soft and saggy.

$62.45 shipped from rockauto.com for SACHS SG329019 qty 2. Pepboys were about 100 for the pair.

I just replaced my 2005 liftgate struts with these ( 2 Pieces (SET) Tuff Support Rear Hach Trunk Lift Supports 2004 To 2009 Toyota Prius) which I purchased on Amazon.

After replacement the liftgate opens easily with only the slightest upward force after pressing on the black plastic switch; with the old struts it needed considerable force to start opening. So much in fact that I now need to fix my "garnish" as it broke completely off the car!

    Hope this helps someone!
