I once had a very serious crush on a married woman. It was very difficult and painful. Watching her kiss him was painful; staying away and not seeing her was painful. Both of them were my friends, which made it easier. It would have been worse if he'd been a jerk. I never told her my feelings, and I have no idea to this day if she knew how I felt. She was not very pretty. There was something else about her. She had a good heart, but that wasn't it either. Asked to say why I felt the way I did about her, I'd honestly be unable to answer.

IMHO, if it was THAT serious, you should have taken the chance and expressed how you felt. You never know, her feelings for you might have eclipsed her current marriage. You both stood to gain everything. Now, it seems, the time has passed and you will never know.

IMO, that's the sort of risk worth taking.

It's probably good that you didn't say anything... it would have made for an awkward friendship for everyone involved. I was in a similar situation in college... I knew a mutual friend had a thing for me... fortunately, nothing was ever acted on and we were able to remain friends. : )

    Why, Squidey!
You should stay away from older women - they just might corrupt you. :D

And you should stay away from older women who are married to engineers or mechanics. Their husbands just might decide to "whoop nice person" your car!

Dude, never, but never, mess with a marriage. Not good juju. If the marriage breaks up and the object of interest falls into your arms, that's one thing, but trying to cut in on a couple already out on the dance floor is another.

Yes, I speak from experience. :(
Nothing really happened, just whole lotta talk. But my being selfish and expressing my feelings made a rocky period in a marriage a whole lot more complicated. Everyone ended up hurt and I lost a couple of good friends.

You did the right thing, leaving things lie like you did.

Thanks! Just found out Saturday...the Prius was purchased with the intent of being a more family-type car than my tiny Saturn coupe was, so I guess that will work out pretty well. :)

Thanks! do not know yet. I have the official doctors appointment today after work. I'm sure I'll be finding out far more information than I expect, as this is the first. My mom says she still has a practically-still-new infant car seat from when my niece was born ~1.5 years ago (she outgrew it VERY quickly). If it could fit in a Corolla, I'm sure it'll fit in a Prius too. :)
