Do halogen model 06-2009 model lamps accept the HID bulb setup okay?
I have factory hid and the lenses are sad- I have polished and buffed- but there are areas of haze and staining on the inside of the lamp-

Id like to update to the black 06 style I see online-

There are several threads about HID headlight swaps around here. Use the search feature limited to the gen 2 forums to find them.

    I have HID from factory.

My question is can I will factory units fit into non-HID specific headlight replacements.

likely no, the base of the bulb of a HID and halogen bulb are entirely different. you could probably run an aftermarket HID bulb with an H4 base, and buy an adapter pigtail to plug them in, using a halogen housing. But you may get hotspots and uneven lighting.

Thank you for the reply- I will at least dig into it- I like the OE lamp output and setup - but the lenses are getting yellowed even w constant polishing-
