I REALLY didn't like the HIDs so, I went with LED instead and they're by far better than the projectors.
The only issue I have is that the LED bulbs produce a "flat" beam but it's stuck behind those diffuser cones.

Again, the light is bright it's just blocked by that plastic helmet that I don't think I need.

Has anybody removed those things? How?
I'd hate to destroy two new housings learning how.

    TIA,

    Dunc

Are you sure you had HIDs? From the way you describe it, it sounds more you originally had halogen lights.

Could you share the make/model/price of the LED replacement bulbs, this may give other users buying options.

Absolutely, Ballasts, larger housing openings, covers and all.

What, a flat line of light that I can properly aim?
I live in the land of jacked-up trucks. I'LL still be the one being blinded. ;-)

Once I can actually experience the light as it should be, I will happily share my experience.
