That's also what I'm waiting to do. The weather, snow, etc is just not letting me take a good shot of my completed HID project on a wall that would show up.......

Has anyone tried the Mini Graphite? Is everyone using the Mini Gatling because of an aesthetic preference or because it's the best fit?

At the time I bought it, Mini Gatling is the only choice available that came with it.

AH ok, that makes sense. In that case, I am going to try that one. It'll probably be a few weeks, but I'll post pictures when it's complete. Just to make sure I have everything correct, I am looking to get the BI-XENON MORIMOTO MINI STAGE III KIT (H1) from RTS with:

    Adapter Plate: H4
    Ballasts: Morimoto 3Five (35W)
    Bulbs: H1: XB35 5000K (+$30.00)
CCFL Angel Eyes: No (not sure what these even are, sound cool tho)
    Projectors: LHD (North American standard)
    Re-sealing Glue: No Thanks
Shrouds: 2) Mini Graphite (standard model)
    Wire Harness: Relay: H4/9003

Is any of this unnecessary or incorrect? After reading this and several other HID conversion threads, it sounds like everyone on here paid less than the ~$300 at which this is quoted.

    Yup, looks good. Enjoy! :)

Just to confirm, you have the Halogen H4 now right?

That was my next question. I have the Halogens (I assume H4 based on posts here) currently. Do I need to buy used HID headlight assemblies from ebay or is everyone just putting the new HIDs into the old Halogen assemblies?

Either way is fine with me because a stupid wet cardboard box flew up on the highway and smacked right into the passenger side headlight, causing 2 of the 3 plastic connectors to shear. The assembly is now only attached by the third (bottom-left, looking at the front of the car) screw. It also seems to be wedged in their pretty good, so I'm not too concerned. Since I have to replace this anyway, I figured I could replace it with another halogen assembly or just buy 2 new HID assemblies.

I set up an HID for dummies on my CarDomain page (but the CarDomain site seems to be busted right now:(...page 8 of the link in my signature block).

If/when it comes back on-line, take the 10 minutes and have a look....it might save you some trouble when you go do the job.....

No, get a replacement with Halogen H4 housing. They are easier to retrofit because you'll have the bulb adjuster to align X and Y axis.

I had one housing with a broken tab. I bought a replacement one to start the retrofit first. Since it is our only car, I couldn't afford the down time. Once I get the experience with the first extra one, I took off both headlights from the car and did the 2nd one, much quicker.

If u are going to retro in an HID, just use a halogen H4 headlight, unless u want it to say "D1R" on the lens which indicates its a HID housing.

Guys I'm going for it! I bought FXR 3.0 Projectors Today! With 3Five Morimoto 6000k Bulbs, 3Five Ballasts, and some shrouds Matt gave me for free!

The new 3.0's are supposedly smaller, so we'll see if I have to do any kind of cutting! I'll take pics of my output when i get done! Wish me luck!

Well guys, I have them installed. Had to cut the reflector but not by much. I'm having a bit of trouble though, if you look at my output picture, the left beam looks almost perfect but the right one looks slanted. Should I manually adjust them through the old reflector knob or should I reseat the projectors?

And also, if i reseat them, I know projectors work in reverse, so would left be right and right be left? Let me know guys!

Thanks for the recommendation mrbigh, i'm going to have to remount the projectors though, as I was driving around with them last night and they came unmounted :( I took a shortcut when mounting them and didn't glue them, which I should've

And on the passenger side, the reflector didn't get back into the adjustment screw properly, so i'll have to rescrew that in too. I'm going to fix them both today, and then retake shots later tonight and hopefully it'll come out better. I'll make sure to aim them before i put it all back together and glue it this time!

Make sure the shroud is either bolted in or glued in as well. I had them pop off twice. Such a pain for something so minor.

I've remounted them and they seem to be pretty much a straight light with a slight angle (from both projectors) to the right, which I'm okay with. I bolted in the shrouds with three screws! and this time I glued them in with a thermal silicone that's heat resistant.

I'll take some output shots later tonight, but sfv41901, here's shots of the projector before I mounted them!

Sorry about the slightly blurry shot!
