My search didn't come up with this, I'm sure this is a dupe thread, sorry
On the Gen II, when you turned off the car and opened the driver's side door, the headlights turned off. On our Gen III, I have never really been willing to wait, and just turn the headlights off manually. Is there a way to change it so it works like a Gen II?

Yes, the GenIII headlight delay can be customized to zero. Choices are 0 / 30 / 60 / 90 seconds.

Methods may vary by year/model/trim, what do you have? My 2012-Three can be changed through the Display Audio system, or the Nav system, or by the dealer. (Owners Manual, Sec 6.2 Customization, p. 593). My 2010-II could be customized only by the dealership.

For my 2012, the timing could be controlled in the settings from the head unit while parked. Have you tried there?

I did try the mfd, but I might not have met all the conditions needed to see the menu

Depending on the particular model, you may not be able to do it without special electronic tools.

Please let us know what year, model (Liftback / v / c), and trim level you have. If was Nav is an option, not standard for that trim level, then mention it too.

The Dealer can always change it. Any other method would require knowing more than "gen 3"

Dealer, or anybody else with the proper tools...

In my case, I was too lazy to go to the dealer just for that tweak, so I think it was cwerdna who took care of me at a Prius meetup in the area.

I suppose I'll have to ask the dealer when I take it there next time. Hopefully they know what I'm talking about

Does anyone know how to make these adjustments with a scangauge? I know the seatbelt reminder and reverse beep can be adjusted with the SGII.

Yeah, the ScanGauge can't do the headlight one because it uses a different data format on the CAN bus. A fancier device might be able to, though.
