Chime - Red exclamation light - red thermometer icon . I had this problem today. I live on a montain like 5000ft and go up and down it regurlay. This has never happened. I heard something about bleeding the air and changing the coolant but i don't fully understand fully. I have a small learning incapability but i'm not stupid. Can someone help explain this to me in the easiest way possible?

    Welcome to PriusChat.
Sounds like you think it may be overheating.
It may not be a bleeding issue?
I would say to start with the basics and first confirm whether you have enough coolant as well as enough oil.

The Gen2 water pump can leak out the antifreeze so you have to add more fluid.
There is special pink Toyota Super Long Life Coolant you must use.
Also of course check to make sure your fan belts are in good condition.

Check the Radiator and the hose too. Could be the water pump. Good luck.

As others have stated - first things to check are your radiator fluid level and oil level. Also make sure there is not any debris/objects blocking air from coming into your radiator. If there is not an obvious fluid level problem, go to an auto store that will read OBD codes for free - Auto-Zone will do this. The codes they provide will come with a description. Most likely you'll get code(s) related to overheating, and from there the codes can be used to diagnose what the problem with your car is. Post them to this forum and we'll help you figure it out :)
