Help?!! Alarm went off and dashboard lights flashing

The alarm on my car went off and was going off for about 30 minutes. When I learned about it and tried to disable it with the key fob, it didn't work. I used the manual key to enter the car and discard the alarm by turning on the car. All the lights on the dashboard flashed, including the red triangle. The red triangle light went off and then just the engine, ABS, and the direction lights and a few others continued flashing. When I turned off the car and tried to exit, the warning beeping sound went off. I don't know what's going on. Any insight would be very helpful. Thanks!
