Last time I flushed the brake system, I used invalid mode and it worked fine. I can’t get it to do it now, and I’m at wit’s end.

    Set parking brake.
Press POWER button twice (no foot on brake).
Press brake and shift to Neutral (not that you have a choice).
Press brake 8 times in 5 seconds.
    Switch to Park.
    Do the brake thing again.
Press brake and shift to Neutral.
    Do the brake thing again.
    Switch to Park.

Some lists say to press more than 8 times in 5 seconds. I’ve tried holding the brake during all shifts (rather than just pressing Park).

    I desperately need help ASAP.

Watch the @NutzAboutBolts video in the 3rd gen maintenance section on the brake bleeding as he shows how to do it;).

    Good luck (y).

Yes. I can see it reflecting off the garage door. Possible I’m pressing the peddle too fast?

I can see the taillights flashing on and off.

It finally worked. I had siphoned off the master reservoir before starting. I filled it up and then it worked.

Is there a level switch in the reservoir? maybe that’s another element in the mode interlock?

I only thought to try that when the video showed siphoning off the reservoir after putting the Prius into invalid mode.
