My charging cable is fully stuck/broken in my Prius socket. Is there any way I can override the safety feature so I can drive the car to the repair shop dor them to remove the plug? After unplugging the charging cable from the wall first and securing it to the car of course.

Or do I have to tow it to the repair shop?

    Thanks for any advice.

The regular gen 3 has no plug in cable to charge from th wall. I checked mine, no plugs.

They clearly stated they have a Plug-in Prius in their profile... No big deal, they posted to the wrong forum, I'm sure @Tideland Prius will fix it when he gets a chance.

If you were more specific of what city/region you live you'd probably find a PriusChat nerd on here who lives nearby who'd be happy to show up and get the plug out for you and it'd probably cost next to nothing... But if you just want to say you live in the USA you're gonna have to get it towed to a mechanic who's gonna charge you a small fortune because they know they can get away with ripping you off without consequence.

90210, sounds like a famous zip code in Beverly Hills.

Maybe ask a strong friend and see if they can yank/pull that plug out. Maybe there's something wrong with it and a little brute force will do the trick

See post #6 in this thread:

Charging cable stuck in PIP - Any ideas? | PriusChat.

If you get it to release, it's been reported that the gasket seal can be removed from the plug. This will make it easier to plug in and remove.

The forum clearly states plug in forum, no big deal.

Did you cycle the door locks? Many plug-ins will lock the plug to the car when the car is locked. This prevents someone from "syphoning" your electricity at a public charging station.

i agree, pull harder. you can't really damage anything if you're pulling straight out
