I am going to plan the long trip next weekend and I would like to carry the spare tire.
I am not sure which model to pick. Please provide me the tire model or link to the website works fine.

I would also like to see some pictures on how to secure the tire properly in the trunk.

Thanks always for helping me, I love you guys and also my PIP :)

There should be a black tie-down strap in one of the storage bins in the cargo floor area. Loop it through the rings at the rear and through the spare wheel and pull it tight. I also stretch two bungie cords between the four rings and cross over the tire. I bought a donut spare from a 2010 Prius at a salvage yard. The specs are different for the Gen II and Gen III cars, and the Gen III has the proper size for the PiP.
I now have a full-size spare on an OEM alloy wheel, and it fits fine in the cargo area although I sacrifice some cargo space. OTOH, ours is not used for long vacation trips, so most of my cargo consists of groceries. If I need the space for a trip to the nursery or Home Depot, I can always pull the tire out.

I just got an Altima donut spare for my Leaf (the Ecopia tires they come with are known for blowouts, sadly) and ended up wishing I'd gotten the smaller of two possible sizes, as the larger one doesn't even sit flat in the cargo area because of the $#@! subwoofer enclosure for the sound system. At least it looks big enough to drive safely at 55MPH on... Anyway, how well does the Gen III donut spare fit in the PIP cargo area?

:)I paid $100 to include shipping for mine off eBay. I've seen them since for less than that. Depends how quickly you need it.

:)It lays flat, but it's a fish out of water. When I purchased mine, I carried for about a month. Decided, it took too much space and was a hassle, so I store it in the garage. My travels are mostly local so I'm not concerned. Any travel and I'll carry it.

I bought this very inexpensive cover from Amazon to, umm, cover mine while carrying it in the car:

Camco 45359 RV Vinyl Spare Tire Cover (21-1/2" Diameter, Beige)

cost about $10 shipped with amazon prime.

Darup, did you try contacting a salvage yard? If they are in the computer system with other salvage yards, they can have a wheel shipped to them in order to sell it to you. Granted, it may not be any cheaper than the deal you found. Too bad you aren't closer to where I live- I would make you a deal on mine.;) You said you needed one right away for a trip. It will probably take a while for one to be shipped to you from an eBay seller, and the shipping charges aren't likely to be cheap, due to weight.
The $450 mentioned above sounds like it would be for a matching alloy wheel and tire from the dealer, rather than a donut spare.

I can change my road trip by one more week, I am in transition between jobs :)
I do not want to go for the trip without the spare.

you need the spec on the wheel. the correct one is in the faq. if it matches, you're good. if you read through some of the spare tyre threads, you will find some people have used a corolla wheel.

    It doesn't match exactly.
The specs from the FAQ --- T135/80D16 101M

But, it comes from the 2010 corolla.
    T135/ 70R16

    T -- temporary -- matches :)
    135 -- width --- matches :)
70 - -aspect ratio -- no match ( some bought the aspect ration of 70 in this thread)
70% of section width to 80% of section as per manual is not much difference.
R -- does not match --- it might not matter as Radial is better than Diagonal as per manual.
    16 -- tire and wheel diameter -- matches :)

I am not sure on what is 101M.

Seller responded that he will call me.

I am going to pick it up, Please let me know if I am doing any mistake......

it says the wheel size is 16 x 4T, i don't see that in your spec? i don't think the tyre much matters.

Thanks, I read in this forum that somebody bought the corolla later model donut and it worked well.
I am going with that instinct.

I do not want to be stranded in the middle of nowhere while on vacation because of the small mistakes.
I am anxious and dont want to spend $450 for a new one :)
