we had a huge snowfall and due to Christmas and just having had major surgery my 2010 Prius (with solar and moonroof) sat under a lot of snow for a few weeks. The rubber around the roof has started to come away but now it has bunched up. I don’t suspect it is leaking but until I take it in, I won’t know for sure. I was planning on taking it to a trusted glass place to see what they say in the morning.
Is this a dealership worthy crisis or is there somewhere that doesn’t charge near $2000 to replace it?

Generally not . I used to install aftermarket sunroofs.seen em come out of box etc .the dealer installed sunroofs are a trip . Like a weed eater every single fastener and pieces rubber is a part number. Some of these parts only avail till they're gone forever. Solar moon may be one of these ones harder to deal with . I'd do glass place first too. Fore I have kids playing in my vehicle

There’s been lots of reports here, failing sunscreen gaskets, on 3rd gen. Might be some hidden warranty extension or goodwill campaign. Doesn’t hurt to ask.
