    I really need some HELP. I need a Drivers side tail lamp pocket to put my car back together after some lame hit & run drive ripped me a new one. See Diagram #8 1027120826.jpg 1027120825a.jpg

    Dam that sucks.

    If ur bodyshop says the parts are on back order then it pretty much SOL. The car is too new too have parts stocked. I had the same issue with my fog light grill.

    Why are you not having your Insurance company take care of this. Your in Cal, uninsured motorist coverage, which is part of your policy will take care of this. In fact there will be NO deductible! You also need to file a police report!

    I didn't get the impression it was an insurance issue, rather an issue with the fact that the C being so new that parts are difficult to come by.

    Insurance is not the problem. I have Auto Club of So Cal which is the best in the Business. Trust me on that. The Problem is Toyota Keeping up on supplying parts. They would rather send them down the line to build cars rather then sell them in parts. I opened a case with Toyota Corp. The least they can do is toss me some rental money. I would take a loaner vehicle if they have one.

    Insurance 101: Collision Coverage has a deductible. If you buy Uninsured Deductible Waiver you have to identify the Uninsured motorist to be able to waive your deductable. Uninsured Motorist coverage is usually for Bodily Injury. You only have to prove that there was contact with another vehicle to claim an injury claim. Most carriers also require a police report to be filed as it is a crime to file a false report. They just want to keep you honest.

    U are correct......if u was able to get a plate of the car that hit u & it's found that they don't have ins then ur deductable is waived.

    Sorry about your predicament.

    And sorry to ask - from your photo, that must be post pull since they've already cut into the quarter panel. Looks like you lost the rear body panel and probably the rear bumper assembly. Did you lose the tailgate or was it salvageable? Make sure they included a thrust alignment in your estimate since the rear unibody has been pulled (left rear rail connected to left rear suspension connected to left rear wheel...)

    What was the damage in dollars and did you use a AAA cooperative shop which usually work a discounted rate.

    Please keep us apprised on the repair process. Good luck & best wishes - the C will eventually heal.

    Opps - just found your earlier post titled "Tech Question" in the Maintenance and Troubleshooting section. $9K in damages and not a Total Loss per your insurer. In San Francisco where the labor rate is $120 an hour for non-cooperative shops - the Total Loss threshold might have been breeched. You're in Southern California with a labor rate of ... $45 per hour?

    My 2012 was involved in an accident in Sept. $13k for repairs with NO frame damage. Not a total loss. Guess Cali is different

    2083917_WEST_Sundstrom_20121016103820_IMG_1465.JPG $9300.00 The frame rail was not harmed, it just needed a upper body pull. The suspension looks to be good. Since this accident I seem be watching others driving. So Cal must have the worst drivers. I see a close call every day. People drive 65 mph with less then a car leight between them, one after another. No wonder there are so many rear end collisions. I keep 3 car leights off the car in front of me. It is just the right thing to do. Makes me want to move to the middle of Nowhere USA.

    I got it back today after 46 days in the shop. It was raining so I could not give it a really good look over. But when I jumped on the freeway and went to wipe the rear window clear the wiper disapeared. I found it wipping my license plate. Guess it is going back for some more detail work. @#*%!
