I have a 2004 Prius that has an OEM Radio CD Player Model # 86120-47090, also known as 51807 .

but I want to put in a OEM 04-05-06 Prius JBL Radio 6 Disc Changer Tape Cassette CD Player Model # 86120-47100, also known as 56838, that I think has a built-in amplifier.

How do I connect the latter to the car's electrics and make it work? It's interface is different from the former. Thanks for any help you can give!

Unless you want the cassette player, I would recommend just getting an aftermarket radio. Same amount of work (maybe even less) and it should sound better.

to install the jbl would require rewiring the whole interior of the car. the jbl amp is under the rf seat, and some of the head unit functions are controlled by that amp. much better idea is an aftermarket head unit and some good speakers. even the jbl speakers are lame; base model speakers are a joke. i have an '04, i installed a kenwood touch screen head unit and some good woofers in the back doors. it sounds 10x better than my wife's '05 w/ jbl. i can't wait to get some new speakers installed in the front doors.

i would stay away from motorised display head units, and also the kenwood bluetooth sucks. you might do some research as to who makes a good blue tooth head unit if that's important to you.

Does the JBL unit I described above have a built-in amp?
