Help! Please identify what part this is...

    It was hailing pretty bad few weeks ago and the Mrs. Came home with some damage to the rear driver's side wheel well. A part/piece was broken off, she must have unknowningly hit something. I'm not sure what the name of the part is or it's function. Would also like to know if it is important so I can replace it. Attached are pics. Passenger side has the part still attached which looks to be some kind of bracket. It is made of plastic. The other pic obviously shows the bracket missing. Please advise. image.jpg image.jpg

    It appears to serve as a deflector of sorts. Right now, mine is holding a bit of frozen mud in place.
    There might be an aerodynamic purpose to be served, but it's probably pretty minor. It might protect the edge behind it from gravel damage.
    This might be a good junkyard pull if you have such resources nearby.

    I think they call them Splats... Helps improve aerodynamics....
