Help With HV Traction Battery - Voltage(s)

    His car does not start, so he can't measure voltage during driving

    Bought the car accident with impact on the passenger doors both front and rear. As at the time car was delivered it runs and drive with 105k miles

    thanks. to get it straight:

    1) you bought a car after it had been in an accident, not salvage title, and it started and drove how many miles before you took it to the body shoppe?

    2) what happens when you plug it in?

    3) who diagnosed your low cells, and how did they do it?

    1) The car is salvage but runs and drive, the damage was just the door.

    2) The charging light icon on the charging point on the car comes on for like 5 seconds and off when the charging timer is set but nothing happens on the dash

    how many miles did it drive after you bought it?

    how many times did you charge it?

    not sure your reader will work correctly on it.

    fwiw, we haven't seen many/any bad hybrid batteries, and some members are closing in on 200k.

    The car was delivered to the body shop but only moved it couple of feet. We didn't charge it thinking the job would not involve the HV battery. can you recommend one for me and where to get it

    tech stream, amazon. there are a bunch, so you'd have to look through the threads here to find one that suits you. you also need a certain spec laptop.

    did you check to make sure someone didn't disconnect the orange safety plug?

    and i still think you should check the 12v, sometimes new are low in charge, or defective.

    checked the 12V, it seems okay at 11.89V. Saw somewhere it could be that the DC/DC converter fuse (120A fusible link) is blown, though am yet to find a way to test this

    Not good at all if that was with no load after sitting overnight. But I don't think that would prevent the EVSE from charging the hybrid battery.

    okay. I have been on the car trying to fix it with the battery connected, which from opening and closing of doors will amount to a drop in voltage.

    if you're committed to the battery without more testing, there's no more to say.
