You don't see all that many dead cars on the side of the road these days.
Yesterday afternoon I was surprised to see a pine mica Prius on the shoulder
of I-83 northbound, in the elevated section just after you get on at Baltimore
St. Traffic was light, so I got on the binders early and pulled in front with
about 20 yds separating the two cars. The female driver was talking on a
    cell phone.

As I approached her car, she got out still talking on the phone.
    Was she was alright? Yes.
Did she need any help? No.
Was there anything I could do? No.
She seemed to get agitated as I came closer. I stopped about 5 yards from
    the vehicle.
I asked again, did she need any help? No.
So I waved friendly like, got back in my car and left the scene.
My trip had me return southbound some 20 min. later and the car was gone.
Perhaps she had just pulled over to make her call. That would be a first!

Realistically, there was very little I could have done. I don't carry a cell phone.
I'm not very mechanically savy. I could have gone for gas. I could have used
my ScanGauge to read any trouble codes.

Nonetheless, it only took a few minutes to do right thing.

    Hobbit,
I think a MAF high/low signal is a 2 trip code. It probably did store a pending code, but won't turn the MIL on until it happens again. It is monitored by the CCM for electrical circuit integrity (open or shorted) which should result in an immediate light by unplugging the sensor with the ICE running. Did you scan it after the "digit test"?
