Bought a totaled 2005 Prius and fixed it. Runs and drives fine, but one mystery remains: Behind the left front fender is a 2 pin connector that goes to a small plastic broken part with a resister on the black wire. the other wire is red.The wires that go to the connector are: one is red , the other is white with a black stripe. I showed the broken part to the Prius tech at the Toyota dealership and he had no clue. Can anyone solve this mystery? Thanks, Bob

That resistor is probably a thermistor. Using an ohmeter, put it into some ice water, and see if the resistance changes. It could be coolant tank temp sensor, the ambient air sensor, or the A/C evaporator sensor. Where was the damage?

Thanks for the reply. That sounds right. The broken part is the female part that the plug plugs into, about a cubic inch and looks like it's a standalone. Going to the dealership this AM to pick up a part and will try to put a little pressure on'm. Thanks again. Bob
