HID RETRO TIME

    They just arrived in the mail from Japan today.......gotta get my things ready. It's retroing time.

    When I get them pulled apart, I snap some pics & start playing with it. I have 2 pairs of FX-Rs & a set of custom AP1 projectors. I know TRS said that the RX Bi-xenon projector will bolt right up but I don't have 1 to test.......unless some1 wants to let me borrow 1 :D

    Sweet! Post up pics/video/tips for bumper removal when you get to it.

    Be careful when you separate the housing after you bake it. I broke a small section off the high beam reflector on mine. There were like 6 screws to remove, too, that I had to do after baking. And a few little plastic nub things around the edge that you need to open.

    I should get mine back in a couple weeks from TRS on the Retro Quik system. Be curious to see the output differences once they're done.

    Thx for the tips.......this will be my xx? set of headlights that I open. If they are anything like my gen2 JDM headlights, then it'll be a breeze.

    Can't wait to see the results. I installed HIDs last night and noticed the uneven dispersion of light all over the place. The stock projector lens are just not meant for HIDs, I presume. Been reading the thread from F8L regarding the bowing and cutoff. Those lights look sweet, by the way, Sean. Is there a blue hue I see on the lens?

    Yes, these have the light blue chrome on the headlight bezel. Looks like I'm going with the S2K projector. It's a better fit.

    Can't wait to see the results. TRS will be coming out with a retrofit fit kit soon which will take out all the guess work.

    Dumb question. If these projectors were meant for Japan, wouldn't they have a flare up to the left, instead of to the right?

    Yes they would have the flare to the left, but since he is replacing the projector it wouldn't matter.
