A friend gave me some Hella 100w HB3 bulbs and ceramic plug connectors. I am concerned that these bulbs will generate higher temperatures and melt or destroy the headlight housing. Yes I know about legal wattage for auto bulbs.
What are the pros and cons. Recommendations.

I put some 100s in my wife's subaru; the only thing needed were the ceramic plugs & a higher rated fuse /
no problems burning the bowl with the higher temperatures /
if your lights are adjusted correctly there should be no problem with other drivers; in comparison to some led or hid lights the 100s are still way dimmer & more yellowish /

Original wiring with that higher rated fuse, or did you run new?

IF.....the lens or reflectors are plastic.....which I think is highly likely......then I think you have a valid concern.
