PiP has auto/on/off headlights (my Base has it). Auto dimming mirror is available in Advance model. Regular Prius above Three or Four has it as well.

LED headlight, Radar CC, Precrash collision, etc... are not tech goodies or advance safety features?

I have 39% of the miles on EV and 61% on HV. However, majority of my trips (very short) are driven on EV. I am averaging about 260 Wh/mi on electricity and 54 MPG on gas.

That's an outstanding for a 5 seater midsize plugin with a full cargo capability.

But how much is the Advance model? Similar to this HAPI. The main difference between the two is: One is a big cruiser without a trunk, the other is an econobox like ride with full cargo.

USB, we don't have auto-on on the base, only auto-off.

FYI my base PHV in Canada is equipped with auto headlights, auto-on and auto-off.

Oh, that's right. DRL to headlamp is a manual rotate on the switch.

We tend to have more standard features than the US. They only get automatic headlights on the Four and Five models of the standard Liftback. The Two and Three get auto-off.

How is any of those a safety feature (one that avoids an accident or one that protects you in the event of one?).

If anything, automatic headlights have made people lazy and I've seen cars with the lights off in poor lighting condition because they think if it's bad enough, the lights will turn on. It doesn't matter that they can't see 200ft down the road.

Auto-dimming mirror? that's a convenience item like power windows.

I would consider a backup camera or Pre-Collision System as safety features.

Never mind that an autodimming mirror costs $100

Not bad. It could get close to $300 if you want a compass, Homelink or outside air temp.

So it has a light sensor? Curious where they would put it.

Looking at these photos, cargo space can be a deal breaker for some.

Same place as the regular Prius - passenger side near the windshield.

so, here we are, with numbers in hand!

first off, I went skiing a few weeks ago. with one pair of 160 cm skis, there was no need to lower the rear seats at all. so…if i went with a group of friends who were all shorter than me (not unusual, especially if it's mostly girls), we could take 5 people. with two pairs of 160 cm skis…rear seat has to come down, but you can still take 4 people with no problem.

now, HAPI is 8.6 cu ft
    TCH is 13 cu ft
    FFH is 16 cu ft

sure, these sedans might not be able to "do it all". but the latter two can sure do a hell of a lot more than the first one. btw, here's what the rear seat fold-down looks like on the Camry: http://images.thetruthaboutcars.com/2012/04/2012-Toyota-Camry-Hybrid-013.jpg

The only plug-in cars where you can get 4 people plus skis and drive to the snow are the prius phv, c-max energi. Otherwise you need to go hybrid or ice. At least I think the fusion energi won't fit those skis but I am not sure. Tesla and leaf likely don't have the range. That all said, I doubt that those buying the accord phev will have trouble finding someone else to drive to the snow.

It seems to be happening. The guy behind June 2013 Plug-In Electric Vehicle Sales Report Card looks like he's still collecting numbers but 584 PiP were sold in June 2013 vs. 42 Accord PHEVs.

Whoa, hold the phone .... you're comparing Accord plug-in vs two regular hybrids. Ah, Invalid. Wait 'til October for the HAH.

No way FFH has 16 cubes, it's less than TCH.

Let's hope Honda isn't as s-l-o-w about HAH as HAPI. HAPI built in Japan whereas Accord factory in Ohio tooling up for Accord Hybrid. Any takers? I wouldn't buy a regular Accord 'til 3rd year model. Hybrid? 5+ years.

If dealers up marking the price by $4000 is the norm, that isn't surprising.
