in my opinion. After seeing these, I believe Honda gets the look EVs should have, clean, not Batmobiles.

I agree, even though these are concept cars. Tesla has great looking cars. Toyota hired some tripping gamer kids to design Gen 4, however. I hope this Honda and Tesla looks take.

i'll reserve judgement until there is a production model, although most honda's look okay.

It really starts to irk, when not only are the looks outlandish, but utility suffers as a result (upper glove box nixed to avoid disrupting the dash "sculpture", and lower glove box volume slashed), and parts prices in collision repairs soar (the electronics festooned, fragile front and rear "bumpers", swooping headlight sculptures).

yeah, gen 4 parts prices are gonna come back to haunt owners eventually, in non insurance repair costs, and in insurance rates.
wait till they start stealing the hatch glass out of the prime.

Yes, but they are at least on the right track with simple lines, no useless creases in body works, simple, but functional lights, etc. As I said, this is a concept car (suicide doors, lol?! Not going to fly.), but their hearts are in the right place.

I don't think we're the target demographic. Not sure why not though. (n)

Maybe because we are old (and usually wiser) and do not buy every new-fangled gadget that comes to the market. We wait and see what the long term effects of the design are. But also the short term immediately visible things that we know through life experience not to be a good thing. I am still pissed off at manufacturers for making all bumpers color matched with the body of the car. That was a downright extortion move. Any bump to these and it's $500-$1000 damage. The old black bumpers were much cheaper to replace and did not get damaged as easily. That's just one example.

Yup, that why I keep looking longingly at Jeep Wrangler: sensible bumpers, small/round/recessed headlight shells, and so on: form follows function.

If someone would come out with a similarly practical/utilitarian mpg champ I would be all over it.

Ah, concept cars. Tesla's are here. At least 100 people waiting patiently in line just to sit in Model 3 at Stanford store on first Saturday. I am seeing Model 3's here and there also. Saw one last night at Chipotle and chatted with owner a minute.

concept cars are usually far out and never make it to production. let's hope honda breaks the mold.
